Dear contributers,
Stockport Council has launched two new Commonplace maps today to ask how we can make the Heatons and Romiley better places to walk and cycle.
Currently, 30 per cent of trips under 1km (0.62 miles) in Greater Manchester are made by motor vehicle. Active Neighbourhoods will enable us to make more of these short journeys on foot or by bike, by making these journeys safer and easier. This change will help us become healthier, improve our air, make our roads safer and help create a sustainable future for us all.

Note: if you wish to ensure that any previous comments relating to walking and cycling are considered as part of the Active Neighbourhood schemes, we advise you to add them to the new Commonplace maps.
